Barabara Wood's "Daughter of the Sun"

Finally, finally! Between classes, work, and the rest of the chaos that makes up my life, I got a chance to read a book. What a concept, huh?

To be honest, I was looking for a mindless romance novel when I picked up Barbara Wood's Daughter of the Sun. A romance novel it is not, though there are some Shakespearian inspired relationships in it. It's a story that takes a look at one of the most confounding historical mysteries of the American Southwest. The abandonment of one of the Anastazi people's largest cities. This fictional account of why the Anastazi left is rich with their cultural traditions. This book is not a page turner, but the cultural details are facinating enough to make it an interesting, if not riveting read. If there's nothing pressing on your reading list this is a good one to fill the space until you find something more interesting.
